Ogimet has been developed almost exclusively by Guillermo Ballester Valor, meteorologist from Spanish Meteorological Institute INM. Most of data are available thanks to services from NOAA. Our most special thanks to it

It has been used only Open Software. Most of the main tools are:
  • Operative system: Linux. Distribution SuSE 9.3 with Kernel 2.6.11
  • Web server: Apache2
  • Database: MySQL
  • Graphic libraries: gd
  • Contour Packages. Weather maps has been made with GPL'ed GMTpackage. A very powerfull and great tool
  • CGI libraries: cgic. This library has the license you can read here
  • Javascript libraries: overLIB. Permits to show nicely information in the web pages
  • Java Applets: AniS. Very efficient Java Applet to show loops, overlays and many more
  • Cartographic data: Basic cartographic data was taken from NOAA Globe project. This data has been reprocesed to get the desired scale, projection, color paletes etc. Libraries and binaries used to this process has been developed in Ogimet
  • Development language:
    • C, for libraries and inject report to database modules. Also was used standard C for the report analysis and decodification, for graphic routines and binary CGI. Of course, all compiled and linked with GCC compiler
    • php4, for query scripts to database
    • html, to write the pages you're reading just now
DISCLAIMER: The information in these pages must be taken as merely informative. The authors are not responsible about errors, delays or failures in the data or when interpreting the data. No any critical mission should use this data.
